Anna Kisting, MS, LPC
Executive Director & Owner
Great therapy transforms you. It changes your mindset, soothes your pain, and helps you approach life in a healthier way.
When working with me, you’ll be challenged to learn more about yourself and empowered to make meaningful change. I’m proactive about identifying how you want your life to improve and working with you toward those goals using every tool at my disposal.
I’m a married mom with two small kids. I deeply understand that life, with all of its obligations, can feel so heavy. When you’re disconnected and turning away from your partner, life feels even heavier. Maybe you’re afraid, deep down, that your partner no longer wants the life you’ve created with them. Maybe you worry that you’re not enough for your partner - that you constantly disappoint them. Perhaps the lack of sexual intimacy in your relationship has hurt you for far too long. When you’ve lost your connection to YOUR PERSON it seems painfully impossible to get back on track, especially if there have been years of hurt and disconnection.
I specialize in helping couples reconnect in much more meaningful, vulnerable ways, all while understanding why and how things have fallen apart. We’ll work together to get the closeness back into your relationship, so you can feel understood and loved again.
Regardless of whether you’re here on your own or with your partner, the best therapy happens within a great therapeutic relationship. My clients often tell me they feel understood, safe, supported, and appreciated for whom they truly are. Your well-being and personal growth are very important to me. YOU are important to me.
Join Me for a Special Weekend Just for Couples
At long last, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be hosting a special Hold Me Tight couples workshop on February 22 - February 23, 2025 at my office here in St. Peters. Putting together a weekend like this for couples has been a goal of mine for years, and I can’t wait!
This workshop is a great fit for couples who don’t have the flexibility and/or financial resources to attend weekly couples therapy. It’s a wonderful way to get some good work done in a limited amount of time and financial investment.
This Hold Me Tight weekend workshop will help couples:
Identify the REAL, under-the-surface reasons for conflict in your relationship
Change negative patterns that keep you feeling frustrated and disconnected
Heal from relationship wounds that have been there for a long time
Restore a sense of safety to the relationship
Learn new ways to communicate with each other
Deepen your emotional and physical connection
I'm joined by two phenomenal colleagues, Andrew Frager and Katheryn Barton, who are both highly skilled and experienced couples counselors. We’ve been working hard to prepare an incredibly meaningful experience for everyone who attends.
Hold Me Tight workshops are exciting, informative, and full of practical tips to transform your relationship. The workshop blends hands-on experiences and learning with group discussion, videos, and exercises that you can use right away.
During the workshop, you’ll go through seven important conversations. These talks help couples grow closer, understand their conflict, manage emotions, and improve communication. Every part of the workshop is designed to enhance your relationship.
I hope to see you in February!

career exploration and assessment
Professional Experiences
Staying up-to-date with the most effective therapies has been a huge priority over the years. It’s important to grow so I can serve you best. I’ve sought out specialized clinical training in a number of arenas:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples
The Gottman Method for Couples
Sensate Focus (Sex Therapy for Couples)
Career Assessment (e.g., Strong Interest Inventory, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator)
Clinical Supervision
I earned a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Iowa State University in 2007. Throughout my life, I’ve worked with adults and older adolescents as a psychotherapist, career counselor, adjunct psychology professor, and disability services coordinator. I use my knowledge and experience from those roles every day as a clinician in private practice.
I’m genuinely invested in every client who walks through my door. Fostering your trust is my most important priority – trust that you can safely share your vulnerabilities, and trust that I can actually help.
I look forward to working with you.
